Common questions
Is Maptide the same thing as Proxi?
No. Proxi builds and hosts its own interactive map - you get a proxi.co link, embed code, or QR code, running on Proxi's own rendering stack. Maptide designs an overlay and exports it as a KML that becomes a real Google My Maps map, so your guests get the actual Google Maps app they already have installed.
Does a Proxi map work inside the real Google Maps app?
No - Proxi's maps run entirely on Proxi's own hosted stack, so there's no blue-dot geolocation inside the actual Google Maps app and no "Save" to a guest's own Google saved places. A Maptide-exported map has both, because after you import the KML it is a My Maps map.
What does Proxi do better than Maptide?
Proxi is a broader marketing platform - SMS/email campaigns, gated "premium" maps, scavenger hunts, custom domains, translation add-ons. If you need those built into the map itself, Proxi is built for that. Maptide does one job: design an overlay fast and hand you a real Google Maps link, with nothing else to configure.
