Maptide vs Scribble Maps.

Scribble Maps exports KML for GIS tools. Maptide's KML is built for one job: importing straight into Google My Maps as a real, navigable map.

Common questions

Scribble Maps can export to KML too - isn't that the same as Maptide?

Not quite. Scribble Maps' KML export is marketed and built for moving data into GIS tools like ArcGIS, not for importing into Google My Maps - there's no workflow or marketing built around that path. Maptide's export is engineered specifically to become a Google My Maps map: import the KML once and your guests get the real Google Maps app, blue dot and all.

Is Maptide a GIS tool like Scribble Maps?

No. Scribble Maps is closer to a lightweight ArcGIS/QGIS alternative - drawing, annotation, and file export for GIS and ops work. Maptide only does one thing: design an event or venue overlay and export a KML that becomes a real Google Maps map. If you need shapefile data layers, route optimization, or GIS-grade annotation, Scribble Maps (or QGIS/ArcGIS) is the right tool, not Maptide.

Does Scribble Maps' free plan have a watermark like Maptide's?

Scribble Maps' free tier caps you at 5 shared maps and 450px print exports, and its embed-loader logo only comes off on the $100/mo Pro Business plan. Maptide's free tier carries a watermark too, and paid tiers remove it - same idea, lower floor.
